Thomson Gale, the creator of this electronic database, describes its contents as follows:
“This database integrates award-winning biographies from respected Gale Group sources with related full-text articles from hundreds of periodicals, as well as tens of thousands of images and links to hand-picked web sites. Search for people—both current and historic from all eras and fields of endeavor—based on name, occupation, nationality, ethnicity, birth/death dates and places, or gender, as well as keyword and full text. Or, combine search criteria to create a highly-targeted custom search.”
Use this database for research you are doing for any of your classes. The resources used in this database are reliable and authoritative reference books, encyclopedias, and periodicals.
At home or at school, use the password wiseowl.
Use the Power Search button on the left to initiate a search.
Be sure to notice the tabs at the top of the page once you have completed a search. If you are looking for very current information on a topic, use the Magazine or News tabs. If you need pictures, audio or video clips, use the Multimedia tab.
